About Kaya Herb House
Jamaica's first herb house (2018), with stores at Drax Hall, Ocho Rios, Falmouth and Kingston; current CLA licence records are not published.
Kaya Herb House opened in 2018 as the first licensed medical cannabis dispensary in Jamaica, and the brand now runs four herb houses: Drax Hall (St. Ann, next to Scotchies), Ocho Rios town centre, Falmouth and Kingston, according to its website and an April 2026 Jamaica Gleaner report.
The Gleaner described the business as trading under NUGL, a company quoted on the US over-the-counter market, and reported herb-house revenue of about J$550 million (US$3.45 million) in 2025, up 16%. It also reported that Hurricane Melissa in October 2025 damaged the Falmouth store's roof and forced a temporary closure.
Kaya's FAQ says buyers need a written recommendation from a registered Jamaican doctor or a medical card valid in another country, plus photo ID showing they are 18 or older, and that smoking on the property is allowed only in designated areas. It gives 2 ounces as the per-person limit.
On licensing, the regulator's former online directory listed Kaya Herb House at 82 Lady Musgrave Road, Kingston, as a retail licensee, with a term to December 2022. Kaya does not appear on the CLA's later published list or its new store finder, so we mark it unverified; the Gleaner still describes it as one of the larger licensees.
