How cannabis is sold in Uster

Uster's cannabis business is a CBD producer on Strickstrasse, selling hemp flower that stays below the Swiss 1% THC line.

What does Qualicann actually sell?

The register entry describes CBD oils, flowers and hash under 1% THC, made in the Zurich Oberland since 2017 and shipped across Switzerland. It is a producer and online shop, and Verdex has no confirmation of a walk-in counter at Strickstrasse 1.

Is that legal?

Yes, below 1% THC. Smokable flower is also taxed like a tobacco substitute, and the details are in the Swiss CBD guide. Anything above the line is a narcotic outside authorised trials and prescriptions.

Can Uster residents join Züri Can?

That trial is run by the University of Zurich with the City of Zurich, and participation requires living in the city, so Uster residents are outside it. It has 2,462 enrolled participants and 21 sales points. Enrolment began in March 2023, sales in August 2023, the monthly participant cap rose from 2,100 to 3,000 in November 2024, and in March 2026 the end date moved to October 2028.

Where do THC products fit?
