The licence number printed on a cannabis package usually belongs to the manufacturer or distributor, not to the store that sold it. That is the first thing to know about brands. Verdex's list spans California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington; four show the range. Jungle Boys has operated in Los Angeles since 2006, is known for its flower genetics and has stores in downtown LA, Santa Ana, Pomona and La Mesa.

STIIIZY is known for its vape pods and has a downtown Los Angeles flagship at 728 E Commercial St. Wana, born in Boulder in 2010, makes dose-calibrated gummies for licensed Colorado dispensaries, and Wyld, founded in Oregon in 2016, sells real-fruit gummies in licensed dispensaries in 16 states and Canada.

Brand licence, store licence, and the federal overlay

A brand is not a seller. To confirm a product, look up the licensed retailer in the state's own lookup and then the batch: California's Department of Cannabis Control shows licence status by name, and a real licence number on a fake package is a common counterfeit trick, according to our licence guide.

A California package must show the licensed manufacturer's name, a unique identifier and a batch number; missing fields are a red flag. Vape carts are the easiest format to fake, and the CDC found that 78% of THC-using EVALI patients with product information got products only from informal sources.

Federal law adds a date to watch. A federal appeals court refused on September 9, 2026 to block the order moving state-licensed medical marijuana to Schedule III, while adult-use cannabis remains Schedule I. Hemp-derived THC products lose federal hemp status on November 12 and December 11, 2026; state-licensed dispensary products are regulated as marijuana, not hemp. Can I buy STIIIZY or Jungle Boys online and have it shipped?

No. Cannabis cannot legally cross state lines or go by mail, and licensed California retailers deliver only with their own drivers within the state, according to the Department of Cannabis Control. A website selling the brand nationwide is a red flag.

Are hemp THC gummies from cannabis brands affected by the federal ban?
