Green Dot Labs (GDL) is a Boulder cannabis brand founded in 2014 by husband-and-wife Dave and Alana Malone. It started as an extract company (it says it was the first regulated Colorado business to focus solely on cannabis extracts) and has since expanded into flower grown from its own genetics. The business remains family-owned and recently expanded into Arizona.
GDL describes its team as both resin farmers and breeders. It reports a library of more than 250 proprietary strains managed through a four-stage system (Heirloom, R&D, Selections and GDL Originals), and it cultivates and extracts in-house. A 2026 product refresh replaced the old Black, Blue and Silver Label tiers with three clear categories:
- Flower: small-batch buds grown from seed and hand-selected.
- Live Resin: extracted from fresh-frozen GDL flower and sold as dabs, cartridges, all-in-one vapes and infused rolls.
- Live Rosin: solventless extract made with ice and water, sold as badder, vape systems and rolls.
A separate "Powered by GDL" line applies the company's extraction to cannabis grown by partner farms. The newest release, a live resin all-in-one vape, was scheduled for August 2026 at selected retailers in Colorado and Arizona.
Colorado's licensee lists show ISM2 Inc., trading as Green Dot Labs, holding retail and medical product-manufacturing and cultivation licenses in Boulder and Denver. GDL does not operate stores; shoppers can use the brand's product finder to see which dispensaries carry specific strains and formats.
