About Kiva Confections
Family-owned California edibles maker founded in 2010, behind Kiva chocolate bars, Terra bites, Camino gummies, Petra mints and Lost Farm chews.
Kiva Confections is a California cannabis edibles company founded in 2010 by Scott and Kristi Palmer, who made their first chocolate bars in their home kitchen after a visit to a local chocolatier. Still family-owned, Kiva says it now employs more than 400 people and calls itself the country's leading edibles brand, a claim based on its own reporting.
The company makes several product lines:
- Kiva chocolate bars, which the company says combine cacao with solventless cold-water hash.
- Terra chocolate-covered bites, which Kiva says take more than ten hours each to make.
- Camino gummies and fruit chews, built around terpene-matched effects.
- Petra mints designed for small, portable doses.
- Lost Farm chews, plus a CBN-focused product line and vapes.
Kiva says it adopted strict potency, production, packaging and testing standards early on, uses locally grown cannabis and sustainably sourced cacao, and in 2021 switched to a biodegradable carton for Kiva bars and fully recyclable metal tins for Terra and Camino. It also helps fund cannabis trade groups.
California's license search lists Kiva Manufacturing, Inc. with active manufacturing licenses, including a Type N license for adult-use and medicinal products, and a related distribution license. Kiva does not run its own stores. Its products are carried by licensed dispensaries such as March and Ash in San Diego and The Pottery in Los Angeles, and Kiva's website has a store finder. Anyone looking for Kiva edibles in California should shop only at licensed retailers, which sell lab-tested, properly labeled products.
