Elios Clinics is a medical cannabis clinic in Birmingham that runs specialist assessments by video and at its Edgbaston clinic, taking patients from across the Midlands and further afield, including London, Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham. The operator, Elios Clinics Limited, has been on the Care Quality Commission register as an independent doctor practice since January 2023; the CQC had not yet carried out a rated inspection when we checked in September 2026.
The route to a prescription runs in four steps:
- A free online eligibility assessment.
- A review of medical records by the clinical team.
- A video consultation with a specialist; the team includes a GP, a pain medicine consultant and a psychiatrist.
- If treatment is approved, the prescription goes to a dispensing pharmacy.
The first consultation costs £50. Ongoing care is a £240 annual subscription, spread as £20 a month, with medicines and delivery billed on top. The site lists areas such as pain, neurological, psychiatric, gastrointestinal and skin conditions and cancer-related symptoms, and states that paying for an assessment does not guarantee a prescription.
Public feedback is thin: Elios had no Trustpilot reviews, and a UK clinic directory showed four patient ratings from 2024 averaging 1.8. Those reviewers liked the specialists but complained about unanswered calls and emails, delivery waits and price.
