How cannabis is sold in Marrakech
Marrakech has a hashish reputation it cannot use here: the only entry Verdex holds is a pharmacy, and it sells cosmetics and supplements, not smoke.
Law 13-21 is adopted, opening cannabis to medical, cosmetic and industrial uses under a new regulator, ANRAC, according to Moroccan press.
ANRAC adds the local kif landrace to the list of authorised varieties, so cooperatives in the northern growing provinces can be licensed for it.
Pharmacies start selling the first cannabis-based products: nine supplements and ten cosmetics, as Morocco World News reported.
The approved list reaches 67 products, 26 cosmetics and 41 supplements, per the same outlet.
What a Marrakech visitor should expect
Supplements must contain CBD with under 0.3% THC and cosmetics none at all, as reported. Nothing you can smoke is on the shelf. The three provinces licensed to grow, Al Hoceima, Chefchaouen and Taounate, lie in the Rif far to the north, so Marrakech is a retail point, not a farm. A stall-holder offering hash in the medina is outside the law, whatever the tourist folklore says. Our Morocco tourist guide covers the penalties, and the Morocco hub lists every pharmacy and brand we found.
Cannabis in Marrakech: questions
Can I buy hash legally in Marrakech?
No. Law 13-21 covers medical, cosmetic and industrial use. Recreational possession and sale remain offences, and ANRAC's list holds pharmacy products only.
How do I know a pharmacy is authorised?
Check it against ANRAC's published list of points of sale; Verdex marks the ones it matched. The count nationally passed 600 outlets in 2026, according to ANRAC.
