Why it matters to buyers

These products are the only cannabis items a consumer can legally buy in Morocco. They are sold through ANRAC's published network of pharmacies, parapharmacies and a few dedicated stores; the list had 630 entries when Verdex checked in September 2026, 70 of them wholesalers. Supplements and foods are capped at 0.3% THC and cosmetics must contain none, according to Hespress and Le Cannabiste.

The medicines gap

One cannabis-derived medicine has been authorized but is held up by administrative steps, and a second is still in registration, Hespress and Le Cannabiste reported. ANRAC and the medicines agency AMMPS announced a protocol on registration procedures on March 16, 2026, and in June ANRAC said prescribing by doctors would take training, protocols and national data.

  1. Law 13-21 on lawful uses of cannabis promulgated.

  2. ANRAC announces a protocol with AMMPS on registration procedures for cannabis products.

  3. ANRAC publishes a note on prescribing after its first scientific day on therapeutic cannabis in Casablanca.

  4. ANRAC's news page carries the 161-product figure; medicines not yet in pharmacies.

Next to watch: whether the first medicine reaches pharmacies before the end of 2026, and ANRAC's annual figures for the 2026 season (the 2025 figures were reported in April 2026). For what is on sale now, see our CBD in Morocco guide.
