Nine pharmacies in three cities are the whole shopfront of the SCRIPT trial: five in Bern, three in Lucerne and one in Biel. A Swiss pharmacy can hand THC cannabis to two kinds of customer, someone enrolled in a city pilot trial or someone holding a prescription. Verdex lists five entries.
Apotheke am Kreuzplatz in Seefeld and Morgental Apotheke in Wollishofen are Zurich's Züri Can sales points; Weed Care runs the Basel trial, with sales until January 31, 2027; SCRIPT covers Bern, Biel and Lucerne until October 2028; and Bahnhof Apotheke Langnau in the Emmental prepares prescribed dronabinol and cannabis tinctures through its Cannaplant unit.

What pharmacy sales did in SCRIPT's first data
Interim results presented in Bern on September 7, 2026 cover 1,177 enrolled adults, half of them with immediate pharmacy access and half waiting six months as a control group.

The prescription route is separate. Doctors have been able to prescribe cannabis medicines without Federal Office of Public Health approval since August 2022, according to Verdex's trial guide, and a pharmacy such as Langnau's prepares them. Nobody else may be sold cannabis at or above 1% THC, and visitors have no access to trial counters.
Legal adult-use sales are still a draft: on May 8, 2026 the National Council's health committee voted 16 to 8 to keep work on the Cannabis Products Act going and sent it back to a subcommittee. Details are in the SCRIPT results guide and the pilot trials explainer.

Can I buy cannabis at a Swiss pharmacy as a tourist?
No. Pharmacy sales of THC cannabis are limited to enrolled participants of a city pilot trial, who must live in the trial's area, or to patients with a prescription. The Federal Office of Public Health describes the trials as closed studies.
How much does SCRIPT let a pharmacy sell?
Interim results from September 2026 describe 8% and 18% THC flower, resin, vape liquid and tincture, sold in nine pharmacies. Pharmacy sales are approved until October 31, 2028, and oils and edibles are to be added.
Is a Swiss cannabis law coming?
A draft Cannabis Products Act would let adults buy from licensed non-profit outlets. The committee sent it back to a subcommittee on May 8, 2026, and no parliamentary vote is scheduled, according to its statement.
