What is SOMAÍ Pharmaceuticals?
SOMAÍ is an EU-GMP manufacturer of cannabinoid formulations, based at Pinheiros Park II in Casal Pinheiro, and it also makes active ingredients. In December 2023 it signed an agreement with Canna Forest to produce APIs and EU-GMP extracted products at its Carregado facilities, according to Cannareporter.
What did INFARMED approve in 2026?
On 20 January 2026 the company announced approval to commercialise three medical cannabis products in Portugal, plus a Portuguese GDP distribution licence, per its own press release. Those are marketing authorisations, known as ACMs, the step a product needs before doctors can prescribe it.
Can a patient go there to buy?
No. Distribution goes to pharmacies, and the pharmacy dispenses only on a prescription. Treat any offer of walk-in sales or delivery from a private address as a warning sign.
Why does a factory count as a city entry?
