How cannabis is sold in Plzeň Region

The Plzeň Region in western Bohemia is home to Lagom Pharmatech, the largest licensed medical cannabis grower in the Czech Republic. Its facility in Osek near Rokycany holds a SÚKL cultivation licence, GMP and GDP certificates and narcotics authorizations, according to the company. In July 2025 Business of Cannabis reported that Lagom ran six indoor grow rooms producing around four tonnes a year and exported most of its output to Germany, with only about 200 kilograms staying in the Czech market.

That imbalance reflects the national picture: Czech licensed producers harvested 4,660 kilograms in 2024, while Czech pharmacies dispensed 263 kilograms. For residents, access follows national rules. Medical cannabis requires an electronic prescription and is prepared by pharmacies, with insurance covering 90% of the price within set limits. Since 1 January 2026, adults 21 and over may grow three plants at a property they own or rent and keep up to 100 grams at home, but buying and selling cannabis remain illegal.
