How cannabis is sold in Ostrava
What the hospital says about its programme
The FNO pharmacy and the hospital's KARIM Pain Treatment Centre began prescribing and preparing cannabis preparations in September 2019, the hospital says. The pharmacy's clinical pharmacy and medicinal-preparation departments handle ordering of the raw material and processing on an e-prescription. Common forms are oral capsules and flower for a vaporiser, prepared in a hot-air sterilizer.
What changed nationally?
Since 1 April 2025 any general practitioner may prescribe medical cannabis, not only the roughly 250 specialists who could before, and a prescription can cover three months, according to Expats.cz. A patient's monthly cap is 180 grams of dry matter. For the wider law read the Czech cannabis law guide; the pharmacy's page is FNO pharmacy. Verdex lists no lounge or club in Ostrava, so the hospital is the whole record.
