Verdex's only Colombian cannabis clinic sits on Calle 41 in Bogotá's La Soledad neighbourhood: Clínica Zerenia, which has its own pharmacy for magistral cannabis preparations and accepts some EPS (health insurer) patients as well as private ones. Medical cannabis is legal in Colombia on a doctor's prescription, and Resolution 2808 of 2022 lists the indications under which the health system covers it. A clinic can assess you and issue the prescription, but what you receive depends on the pharmacy: a registered medicine, a low-THC phytotherapeutic product or a preparation compounded for you.

- See a licensed physician. The doctor decides whether a cannabis-based product fits and has to justify the product and dose. Bring earlier records.
- Prescription (fórmula médica). It names the product or the magistral formula, with cannabinoid concentrations and dose.
- Fill it at the right pharmacy. Registered medicines are sold by ordinary pharmacies. Magistral preparations are made by establishments certified for compounding under Decree 2200 of 2005, with a pharmaceutical chemist, and INVIMA certifies their good practices.
- Read the label. THC and CBD content should be stated; ask for the batch analysis if not.
Two points about Colombia's supply chain. Magistral preparations must use 100% Colombian cannabis from licensed growers; imported derivatives are not allowed for them. And dried flower, recognized as a medical product by Decree 1138 of October 27, 2025, may be hard to find, because its technical regulation was still pending in May 2026.
A store or website that sells THC oils or flower with no prescription and no pharmacy licence is not part of the medical system, whatever it calls itself. Our patient guide lists the four product routes, and is weed legal in Colombia explains the personal dose and public-use rules.
Questions about this list
Do I need a prescription for medical cannabis in Colombia?
Yes. Medical cannabis is dispensed through pharmacies on a doctor's prescription, according to INVIMA and the Health Ministry framework. Anyone selling THC oils or flower without one is outside the medical system.
What is a magistral cannabis preparation in Colombia?
A custom oil or other form that a licensed pharmacy compounds for one patient under a prescription (Decree 2200 of 2005). Under Decree 1138 of 2025 it must use 100% Colombian cannabis from licensed growers.
Can I buy dried medical cannabis flower in Colombia now?
Not reliably. Decree 1138 of October 27, 2025 recognized flower as a finished medical product, yet the rules for dispensing it had not been published as of the May 2026 Salud y Fármacos report.
