Colombian Happy Grow Shop sits inside the Premium Plaza mall in Medellín, at local 3306, and Monkey Junkie is on Carrera 19 in Cedritos, Bogotá. Both sell equipment: substrates, lights, tents and nutrients, with shipping across the country.

Neither is a cannabis seller, and none could be, because Colombia has no adult-use shop licence. The personal dose is up to 20 g of marijuana or 5 g of hashish under Law 30 of 1986, and since December 7, 2023 police may not fine or seize it. What the shops help you do at home is a separate legal question.

Home growing, seeds and the city where you smoke

Self-cultivation for personal use sits outside the licensing system as long as nothing is supplied to anyone else, according to Decree 1138 of 2025. Legal guides cite up to 20 plants, though the legal basis is debated. Cannabis seeds fall under a separate seed licence from the Ministry of Justice, not under a gear shop's trade.

BogotáDecree 644 of 2025, art. 93: round-the-clock ban within 200 m of schools, parks, plazas and transit stations, personal doses included; challenged in court in July 2026, no ruling reported

A bag of plant food ships nationwide; a plant does not. Selling or giving away seeds, plants or flower from a home grow is not covered by the personal-use exemption. Colombia's Congress has archived eight adult-use bills since 2020, and a ninth cleared its first House committee debate on May 12, 2026 but is not law.
