Cannabis social clubs in Spain: what a listing does and does not mean
Verdex lists 3 Spanish cannabis clubs in Barcelona and Madrid. Spain has no club licence: membership rules, the Supreme Court test and street fines.

No Spanish authority licenses cannabis clubs, so nobody can certify one. Clubs operate under a Supreme Court doctrine of shared consumption among small groups of existing users, and Verdex's three listings say the same in their own rules. Blunted Social Club, on Plaça de Víctor Balaguer in the Born, admits people 18 and over who already use cannabis, with ID and a card for every visit.
Enjoint Munchies in Madrid's Chamberí is 21+ and needs a referral. Green Planet in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter allows use only in its members' area. Two of the three say they do not use street promoters. A listing here is not an endorsement of legality.

The Supreme Court's test and Barcelona's crackdown
In STS 484/2015 the Supreme Court found that the Ebers association in Bilbao, with 290 members and open admission, was organized and institutionalized beyond shared consumption. Three leaders received eight months in prison and a €5,000 fine. The court's non-criminal picture is a limited group of known consumers, closed premises, use only by members and no publicity.
| Consistent with the doctrine | What the court and the city treat as a business |
|---|---|
| Referral by a member who knows you | Street recruiter, hotel tip or paid website |
| Small membership | Hundreds or thousands of members |
| Use on the premises | Take-away bags, price lists and menus |
| No advertising | Instagram pages, Google listings, flyers |
Barcelona has about 200 associations, according to Ara, and the city said on August 4, 2026, when it presented Plan Druida, that proceedings were open against practically all of them. The Constitutional Court annulled Catalonia's club law in 2018. As a visitor your own exposure is on the street: carrying cannabis outside is a serious administrative offence with fines from €601, halved if paid within 15 days.

Questions about this list
Can tourists join a cannabis club in Spain?
A club that signs up tourists on the spot is doing what the Supreme Court flagged in 2015 as an open-door operation. The doctrine protects known existing users, not visitors recruited on the street, and there is no licence to check.
Is it legal to buy cannabis at a Spanish social club?
Sale is illegal. Clubs rely on shared private consumption among members, and selling to non-members or operating like a shop can lead to prosecution under article 368 of the Penal Code, with one to three years in prison.
What happens if I leave a club carrying cannabis?
You are carrying an illegal drug in a public place, a serious offence under Organic Law 4/2015 with fines from €601. Paying within 15 days cuts the fine by half but waives your right to contest the facts.
