What the authorisation covers
Phytoplant Research says it was the first company authorised by the AEMPS, the Spanish Medicines Agency, to work with Cannabis sativa L., in 2008. Its permit covers cultivating plants to produce seeds and cuttings for medical or scientific purposes, and the University of Córdoba's news service reported the AEMPS authorisation for the science park site. Público has reported that close to 60% of Spain's medical cannabis cultivation licences are held by foreign capital, and the AEMPS publishes the list of valid cultivation authorisations. It licenses its 14 protected varieties to third parties and has named four in research studies: Raquel, Beatriz, Goya and Magda.
Where the buyer fits
That means licence-holders, universities and manufacturers are the customers, and a patient in Córdoba would meet the results only in a prescribed product. Spain's hospital-based medical scheme is explained in our Royal Decree 903/2025 guide. Recreational cannabis stays outside the law except in private, per the Spain fines guide. The Andalusia hub lists the other Andalusian entries.
Cannabis in Córdoba: questions
Can I buy seeds from Phytoplant?
Its authorisation is for seeds and cuttings for medical or scientific use, supplied under licence, so it is not a retail seed shop.
Is Córdoba a cannabis-club city?
Not on our register; the only entry is a research company.
