How cannabis is sold in Petah Tikva
A patient who has just moved to Petah Tikva keeps the same licence, but the route to the counter has shifted since April 2024.
- Confirm who prescribes
Since April 2024 health funds, not the ministry, handle most indications; chronic non-cancer pain and PTSD stay with the ministry's unit, per a PMC review. - Choose an authorized pharmacy
Drugstore Net at Zvi Bergman Street 10 is on the Health Ministry's list and delivers to patients' homes. - Bring the licence, not a card
Only Israeli licences work; a foreign medical card does not. The Israel guide covers tourists. - Plan for renewals
The May 2026 guidelines ask for in-person review beyond six months.
Limits to know
Licences peaked at 140,483 in January 2024 and fell to about 129,900 by March 2025, the PMC review says, so the programme is shrinking, not growing. The ministry also recommends phasing out smoking over three years. Petah Tikva itself changes none of this: rules are national. Verdex marks the pharmacy as verified, without a score yet.
Licences cover physical illnesses, chronic pain and PTSD, the only recognised mental-health condition, according to Nefesh B'Nefesh, and the ministry's committee stressed that evidence of long-term PTSD benefit is thin.
Delivery is the norm in the register for all four Israeli pharmacies, which is why a patient's town matters little.
