CBD and hemp shops in Czechia: what is still legal

In May 2026, Czech police, customs and inspectors found that 77% of 291 inspected low-THC cannabis and kratom shops broke the law, according to a police release of June 1, 2026 on Operation KORUND. The legal line for hemp is 1% THC, but shops also sell products that are not what the label says. Verdex lists three sellers that operate in the hemp and CBD field: Cannapio, an online CBD and seed shop; Konopný Táta, a Moravian-Silesian hemp brand with a shop in Těrlicko; and Zelená Země, which has worked with hemp since 2010 on crops near Jihlava.

The same bill, dubbed lex kratom, would raise the psychomodulatory age to 21 and end online sales. A second bill would let police close a business for up to 14 days if its products pose a serious health risk. Fines for breaking the psychomodulatory rules reach CZK 10 million, according to law firm ARROWS. Both bills still need parliament.
Police advise against products sold as collectibles or "not for consumption", including flower, candies, pre-rolls and vape refills. Investigators found CBD products spiked with synthetic or semi-synthetic cannabinoids. Feeling unwell after a product: call 155 or 112 and keep the packaging. Is CBD legal in the Czech Republic?
Yes, within limits. Hemp and CBD products up to 1% THC are legal as technical hemp, while low-THC extracts are psychomodulatory substances sold by licensed shops to adults 18 and over. E-liquids with any cannabinoid, including CBD, have been banned since July 1, 2026.
Can I buy cannabis over 1% THC in a Czech shop?
No. No shop can legally sell cannabis containing more than 1% THC; only pharmacies dispense it, on a prescription. Adults 21+ may possess 25 g in public and grow three plants at home since January 1, 2026.
What is the Czech lex kratom bill?
