About RARE Cannabis Co.
RARE Cannabis Co. on Richmond Road SW: independent Calgary store known for effect-based advice, delivery and Alberta mail order; 4.9 from 400+ Google reviews.
RARE Cannabis Co. is a locally owned, independent cannabis store at 2929 Richmond Road SW in Calgary's Killarney and Richmond area. It holds AGLC licence 783886; its sister store is on Main Street in Airdrie.
How RARE sells. The staff call themselves certified terp nerds and steer buyers by desired effect and terpene profile rather than the indica/sativa label, using an in-house system they call the Mood Movement. The shelves cover flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates, oils, capsules, topicals, seeds and accessories.
Delivery and shipping. Local delivery in Calgary runs in a two-hour window, costs $9.99 on a $50 minimum and is free over $99.99. Mail order anywhere in Alberta takes one to three business days: $14.99 shipping, or free above $199.99. Store hours are 9 AM to 9 PM Monday to Thursday and Sunday, and 9 AM to 10 PM Friday and Saturday (website, checked September 2026).
What reviewers say. Birdeye shows 402 Google reviews averaging 4.9, one of the strongest records in Calgary. Reviews from September 2026 praise helpful counter staff and a friendly delivery driver. The mixed ones are useful: a four-star reviewer said favourite products sell out quickly, and one customer who found the door locked at posted opening time left two stars, then raised it to five after management contacted him and made it right.
- Good fit: buyers who choose by effect or aroma, and Albertans outside Calgary who want shipping.
