About Tokyo Smoke

Toronto-born cannabis store chain run by OEG Retail Cannabis, with about 60 locations in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Tokyo Smoke is a cannabis retail chain that started in Toronto and now operates in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland and Labrador. The brand dates to 2015, when Lorne and Alan Gertner opened a coffee-and-lifestyle shop in Toronto's West Queen West neighborhood. Canopy Growth acquired the business in 2018 through its purchase of Hiku Brands, and in 2022 it sold its retail operations, including the Tokyo Smoke name, to OEG Retail Cannabis, the company named as operator on the chain's website.

The chain restructured under Canada's Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act in 2024, closing 29 stores in August of that year before leaving creditor protection in December. In September 2026 its homepage claimed "over 60 locations" and its store locator listed 61, including 42 in Ontario. Toronto stores at 450 Yonge Street, 94 Cumberland Street and 979 Bloor Street West all appear on the AGCO's list of stores authorized to open.

Shoppers can browse a store's menu online and buy for in-store pickup; for Manitoba the site also offers same-day delivery and mail delivery. Tokyo Smoke runs a loyalty program called the High Roller Club and says it was named 2025 National Retail Store Brand of the Year at the ADCANN Awards. Products on the website range from flower and milled flower to hash, and the company also highlights its curated accessories.

Store hours are not published on the chain's store pages, so confirm them before visiting. Public reviews are thin: Trustpilot lists only eight, most of them critical of staff attitude and order handling.
