Coffeeshop Siberië

Coffeeshop Siberië has been open at Brouwersgracht 11 in Amsterdam's canal district since 1984, which its owners say makes it one of the oldest coffeeshops in the Netherlands. It is the first shop of a family-run group that now has five: de Republiek (1987) in the Staatsliedenbuurt, de Supermarkt (2000) on Frederik Hendrikstraat, Loft (2007) in De Baarsjes and Espresso (2007) in Mijdrecht. Of the group's shops, Siberië is the closest to Amsterdam Centraal.

The room has shared tables and art on the walls that changes regularly. It is open every day from 08:00 to 01:00 and accepts cash, debit (pin) and credit cards. House rules are posted in detail: entry from 18 with an original passport, driving license or European ID card (copies are refused), buying a drink or other refreshment is compulsory, visits are limited to two and a half hours, and each person may buy at most 5 grams. Reselling and outside food and drink are not allowed.

Amsterdam has not adopted the residents criterion, so visitors from abroad are served under the same tolerance rules as locals.

In September 2026 Siberië averaged 4.7 stars from about 2,200 Google reviews, with hash, brownies and the canal view among the most mentioned topics. Most reviewers describe a calm, unhurried room and warm staff. The critical reviews center on individual employees: over the past year several reviewers called some staff unfriendly, and one former regular wrote that the shop had started banning regular customers. Management replies to reviews publicly.
