How cannabis is sold in Ciudad de México
Mexico City has no legal cannabis shop, so the one Verdex listing is a doctor's practice in Polanco that guides people toward a permit.
What does the Polanco practice sell?
Sativa Care, on Avenida Ejército Nacional 436, eighth floor, offers an initial consultation priced at 1,500 Mexican pesos. The site describes about 90 minutes covering medical history, psychological and nutritional assessments and a treatment plan. It also publishes a free guide to requesting a COFEPRIS authorization, and warns that COFEPRIS appointments in the capital are scarce. It sells no cannabis.
Why is the capital's route slow?
COFEPRIS keeps a counter at its Mexico City headquarters, free and booked online, and a 2025 study counted 7,019 permits from 19,230 requests between April 2019 and March 2024, with a first refusal common before a judge orders the permit. The step-by-step is in our COFEPRIS guide, and the tourist rules cover fines in public. The clinic's address, phone and email are on its Verdex profile, and it advises that any cannabinoid product a doctor recommends may need a COFEPRIS import permit or a magistral preparation.
