Linneo Health is a Spanish pharmaceutical cannabis company that grows and manufactures medical cannabis for other drug makers rather than for the public. It appears on the list of current cultivation authorizations published by the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPS) under the category for producing cannabis and cannabis products for medical and scientific purposes. The agency last updated that list on 31 July 2026.
According to the Madrid startup directory madri+d, the company was founded in 2018. Trade press from 2022 places its cultivation in southern Spain and reports that its dried-flower facility received EU-GMP Part I certification from AEMPS in September 2022, covering intermediates and finished products, on top of an existing Part II licence for active pharmaceutical ingredients. Linneo describes itself as the first Spanish manufacturer of medical cannabis under GMP accreditation. An exclusive contract-manufacturing deal with Alcaliber, a Spanish maker of plant-derived pharmaceutical ingredients, lets it offer THC and standardized cannabis extracts in addition to flower.
For patients the link is indirect. Under Royal Decree 903/2025, in force since 10 October 2025, standardized cannabis preparations may be prescribed only by hospital specialists and dispensed only by hospital pharmacy services, using preparations registered with AEMPS. Producers such as Linneo sit upstream in that supply chain; they do not run shops, clinics or delivery services. Can patients buy cannabis from Linneo Health?
No. Linneo supplies pharmaceutical companies and distributors. In Spain, patients can only receive standardized cannabis preparations through a hospital specialist and a hospital pharmacy under Royal Decree 903/2025.
