For patients in Luxembourg City's Kirchberg district, the pharmacy of Hôpitaux Robert Schuman is the second authorized medical cannabis dispenser in the capital. The Health Directorate's leaflet names the group's pharmacy but specifies that, for now, only the Hôpital Kirchberg site hands out medical cannabis, not the group's other clinics such as the Zithaklinik or Clinique Bohler.
The listed dispensing hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 15:00, and the leaflet gives a dedicated retrocession contact for outpatient medicines. A patient arrives with a secure prescription from a doctor who has completed the Health Directorate's certified training and must come within 60 days of the prescription date.
What can be dispensed is set nationally. Since the program changes of 1 January 2025, flower comes only as CBD-dominant or balanced THC/CBD varieties, at most 60 g per 28 days, and oils are available in THC-dominant, CBD-dominant and balanced profiles. The ministry said 99% of 2024 prescriptions were for severe chronic pain.
The pharmacy serves patients who live in Luxembourg, are insured with the CNS or hold Luxembourg nationality, which includes many cross-border workers. Taking the product across a border is a separate question governed by the other country's law.
