    About Faises S.A.

Uruguayan company licensed by IRCCA since 2015 to grow adult-use cannabis; one of three firms supplying the flower sold in pharmacies.

Faises S.A. is one of the private companies licensed by Uruguay's Institute for the Regulation and Control of Cannabis (IRCCA) to cultivate psychoactive cannabis for the adult-use market. Its licence, granted by Resolución IRCCA 57/2015, is listed as in force on IRCCA's page of approved licences, making it the oldest active licence in the adult-use category. In IRCCA's data summary to December 31, 2025, Faises was one of only three companies, with Jabelor and Legiral, actually producing the cannabis sold in pharmacies.

Under Uruguay's model the licensee handles cultivation, harvest, drying, packing and distribution, with a technical team of agronomists and chemists, while IRCCA and the Ministry of Public Health oversee quality and traceability. Seeds and cuttings for psychoactive cannabis may only be imported by IRCCA itself.

Producers do not sell to the public. Their harvests are dried, packed in 5 g units with a security stamp and distributed to adhered pharmacies, which sell them at prices IRCCA sets: $U 485 to $U 615 a packet from February 2026, depending on the variety. The four varieties are Alfa and Beta (up to 9% THC, at least 3% CBD), Gamma (up to 15% THC) and Épsilon (up to 20% THC), all dispensed as whole flower that may not be ground or pressed.

Consumers never deal with Faises directly: the packets carry the variety name rather than the grower's brand, and all promotion of psychoactive cannabis is banned. Four more growers (Turigrow, Tested, Calgrey and Flores del Plata) received licences in 2025 under Resolución IRCCA 07/2025, which should widen supply as they start harvesting.
