About Dr. Ansay

Questionnaire-based online platform for private medical cannabis prescriptions in Germany, run from Malta; pharmacies deliver or hold for pickup.

Dr. Ansay is an online platform that arranges private prescriptions for medical cannabis for patients in Germany. Its imprint names Dr. Ansay Ltd., with an address on Merchants Street in Valletta, Malta, and attorney Dr. Can Ansay as managing director. A March 2026 legal-news summary describes the service as running since 2018; besides cannabis it offers other remote medical services.

Unlike platforms built around a video call, Dr. Ansay's standard route is a written questionnaire. Patients pick products from a marketplace that, according to the site, lists more than 1,700 items from over 450 pharmacies, answer medical questions, and a licensed physician reviews the request. If it is approved, an e-prescription goes straight to the chosen pharmacy, which delivers in one to four business days or holds the order for collection. In September 2026 prescriptions were advertised from €14.20 and flower from €2.99 per gram.

The model has drawn legal scrutiny. On 11 March 2025 the Hamburg Regional Court found that some of the platform's advertising breached the German Medicines Advertising Act (HWG), in a case brought by the North Rhine pharmacists' chamber; the ruling was reported as not yet final. Data-security problems have also been reported: roughly 10,000 prescription PDFs were findable through search engines in May 2024, and in January 2026 heise online reported that a database misconfiguration had left up to 1.7 million prescription records exposed. The company said that gap was found by security testers and closed within hours.

Questionnaire-only prescribing is exactly what the pending Medical Cannabis Act amendment would restrict, so the service could change if the bill passes.
