About Clicks
South African pharmacy chain selling over-the-counter CBD oils and capsules within SAHPRA's 20 mg daily-dose limit, in store and online.
Clicks is one of South Africa's largest pharmacy and health-and-beauty chains, and one of the easiest places to buy over-the-counter CBD legally. It sells its own Clicks CBD Oil alongside third-party brands such as Adco and RethinkCBD, in stores and on its website with courier delivery or click-and-collect.
Its own-brand oil shows how South Africa's rules work in practice. The label directions set a suggested dose of 20 mg CBD (1 ml, or 20 drops) under the tongue and say not to exceed 20 mg a day, which matches the Schedule 0 conditions SAHPRA published in May 2020: complementary CBD products may be sold without a prescription if they contain no more than 600 mg per pack, give no more than 20 mg a day and make only low-risk claims. In September 2026 the 200 mg, 10 ml bottle was listed at R486 and marked as sold out online, with an in-store stock checker.
Clicks also publishes a health article on CBD legislation dated December 2019, which explains the 20 mg daily-dose threshold and labelling wording. The retailer advises people on chronic medication to speak to a healthcare practitioner before using CBD.
