Astrid Dispensary is a pharmacist-led dispensary at 575 Chapel Street in South Yarra, Melbourne, that fills prescriptions for plant-based medicines, including medicinal cannabis, and runs a second branch inside the Habitat precinct in Byron Bay, New South Wales. Clinical pharmacist Lisa Nguyen founded it in 2020, during the pandemic lockdowns, and the business describes itself as Australia's first women-led dispensary; the Byron Bay site opened in 2023.
Patients can bring or send an eScript, reorder online and collect in store or have medicines delivered. An affiliated service, Astrid Clinic, led by Dr Shu Ng, offers pre-screening, nurse consultations and doctor telehealth appointments, so a patient without a prescription can start there. The shops also sell vaporizers, skincare, gut-health and body-care products. Astrid's footer says it does not promote natural medicines for every patient and refers people to affiliated doctors for assessment.
