Hanfstübli (Legalize it! Social Club)

Hanfstübli is the cannabis social club of the association Legalize it! Social Club, based at Aargauerstrasse 70 in Zurich-Altstetten. It is one of nine social clubs that act as sales points for Züri Can, the City of Zurich's legal cannabis pilot trial. The club describes itself as a non-commercial association that makes no profit and supplies members with cannabis from state-licensed, controlled cultivation.

Membership is limited to people registered as residents of the City of Zurich, which matches the trial's rules. Members order online and pick up in Altstetten. The city lists the club as open three times a week, on Saturdays and two rotating weekdays. Legalize it! reported that the club had already sold more than two kilograms of study cannabis by November 2023, a few months after the trial began.

Social clubs differ from the pharmacies in one practical way: the city notes that clubs typically let participants consume on site together and exchange experiences, while use in publicly accessible places stays prohibited. The product range and prices are the same as elsewhere in the study, with organic flower and hash in 5-gram packs, and purchases are capped at 10 grams of pure THC a month.

For Zurich residents looking for a cannabis social club in Altstetten, Hanfstübli combines Züri Can access with the long campaigning history of Legalize it!. Registration is done through the club, which checks your eligibility for the study.
