Cannprisma

Cannprisma is a Portuguese medical cannabis company based in Vila Real de Santo António, in the eastern Algarve near the Spanish border. It describes itself as a 100% Portuguese company founded in 2018 that grows, processes and transforms cannabis for medical purposes, and it works under the name Cannprisma-pharma.

The company offers what it calls a seed-to-patient service to other businesses. It sources raw material from licensed producers, handles import and export permits and logistics, processes material into pharmaceutical-grade active ingredients and finished products in an EU-GMP environment, packages products with tamper-evident features, supplies dried medical cannabis flower in a range of strains, and runs EU-GMP laboratory and quality-control testing, including stability studies. It also provides regulatory guidance for companies entering European cannabis markets and has a brand called Prisma Senses.

INFARMED expanded Cannprisma's standing in March 2025. According to CannaReporter's summary of the regulator's updated lists, Cannprisma was one of eight companies that gained new licences that month, covering trade, cultivation and manufacturing. Cannprisma's customers are growers, pharmaceutical wholesalers, manufacturers and researchers rather than patients, and we found no Cannprisma product on the Portuguese Medical Cannabis Observatory's list of preparations authorized for pharmacies.
