Summary

On February 15, 2025, Mexico's federal health regulator COFEPRIS warned the public about the sale of products made with CBD, hemp extract or hemp oil under the brands Paradise, Doctor CBD, Join't Me, CBDFX, Tryp, Crazy Eats and Kanabi, according to López-Dóriga Digital's report of the alert. COFEPRIS said the products were not authorized for marketing, that the origin of their ingredients and their manufacturing conditions were unknown, and that displaying any authorization was meant to mislead consumers. It said they were sold through websites, online marketplaces, social media, self-service stores and independent distributors. Citing articles 234, 235, 245 and 247 of the General Health Law, COFEPRIS said CBD, hemp extract and THC may not be used in foods, supplements, cosmetics or drinks, and advised the public to avoid buying these brands. The alert concerns sale in Mexico; it is not a finding about these brands' legal status elsewhere.
