Summary

On 18 August 2020 Chile's Public Health Institute (ISP) said it had found products claiming to contain CBD on several websites, naming www.linio.cl and www.australhemp.cl. They included creams, chewing gum, lip balm, gummies and body oils.

The ISP's position is that CBD has therapeutic properties and that a product declaring CBD must hold a sanitary registration from the institute to be sold. Its head of the national medicines agency said a product claiming to contain CBD without one is a falsified pharmaceutical product whose quality, safety and efficacy cannot be guaranteed. Linio is an online marketplace named as a place of listing; the notice does not allege that it made the products.
